How it Works:

On the bottom of each tile are rubber female loops and rubber male pegs on all sides that allow the tiles to snap together and create a top smooth surface. The top is a decorative vinyl surface.  The rubber “feet” under each tile are 1/2 “in length.  With the desired vinyl surface style on the top, the total distance from the floor is 5/8”.  The rubber feet and the air between them create a suspended floor design that reduces injuries to ankles, knees, lower back and shins. This patented design reduces lateral trauma on stops, starts and turns.

As with most dance floors, this floor will not hold up with loose taps.  The black slate and white slate have a shinier surface and are slightly more slippery for ballet than the other floors.  Not recommended for ballet pointe.

“Here is the perfect dance floor for many different styles of dance.  I have it in my living room, dance studio, and use is in my videos.  The quality is excellent and it looks good too!”      - Christy Lane

Cleaning:

One of the best features about this floor is that is easy to clean.  Just mop clean.  There is no wax and refinishing needed.  The floor will not stain, warp or crack and has a 10 year warranty.

Installation:

Prepare the surface by clearing all debris from the underlying surface before laying the dance floor.  If your current floor is level, the dance floor will lay more smoothly.  The floor can be laid on very thin carpet (i.e. hotel and convention center carpet).

The connecting system of the tiles consists of a male and female loop.  The male peg snaps into the female loop holding the tiles together.   All tiles on any given installation should always have the female loops GOING IN THE SAME DIRECTION.  It is easy if you start at the upper left of your floor installation with the male pegs on the top and also on your left side of the first tile placement.

Please assemble in the following order:

Above is an example of the order of installation of a 4' x 4' floor.

Always begin in the upper left hand corner of your floor and install the first row across, then the first column down, then fill in row by row, top to bottom and from left to right..

When you properly align male pegs with female loops, apply “foot pressure” to snap the tiles together. If the tile does not snap together easily, then the pegs are out of line with the loops and if not properly lined up, the male peg may become damaged and the tile will not interlock correctly.

For wall to wall installation, lay one row of tiles lengthwise and one row widthwise to establish fit and square alignment.  To fill in any gaps, tiles can be trimmed with a utility knife or jigsaw or line strips can be added.  One quarter inch allowance must be made for expansion of tiles.  Do any trimming last.

Incorrect Installation:

Outdoor installations are not recommended for the Christy Lane Dance Floor since excessive heat can cause damage.  The Christy Lane Poly Tiles and Foam Tiles can be used outside.  However, excessive outdoor wear can cause color fading.  It is advisable not to cut tiles that are being used outside.
